I orignally played this as a flash demo and fully enjoyed it without realising that it would become a full (although both short and long) game. This is another one of those "twitch" platformers that rewards you for bouncing through obstacles for 5 screens without going wrong. The game is short because the world isn't particularly large. At the same time the game is lengthened by the fact that you end up repeating sections over and over. I don't mind a challenge in a game but for me there was too much of the "try, fail, try" playtime stretcher.

  1. I loved this one but it is shorter than a gold fishes' memory. Doesn't matter too much though because you can concentrate on the bonus modes after you complete it. I'm pretty sure there are some user-made levels too. As for the difficulty ... I must disagree slightly: the game is very easy compared to Super Meat Boy - the average person can actually complete it.

  2. THe difference between the difficulty of VVVVVV and Super Meat Boy is that one is hard and the other is just unfair. In SMB you can see what the difficulties are, and it's up to you to beat them. In VVVVVV the difficulty comes from there being a spike right in your path in the next screen you had no way of dodging unless you were psychic. Good review, I agree completely with the score.
