Tom's Current Playtime – 0.7 hours

In its basic goal, “YDAB!” can be most easily compared to “Lemmings”. You have a group of small creatures that you must guide to some sanctum in each level. The main mechanic behind “YDAB!” is the ability to draw pathways for your creatures to take however drawing using a mouse is rather awkward and you only have a set amount of ink for use at one time. Levels feature existing objects to use as platforms but many of the levels are tests of perseverance rather than logic and the overall experience leaves a lot to be desired.

Tom's Score – 4/10

  1. As someone who has completed YDAB and put more than 20 hours into it, YDAB becomes more about logic and tactics the further in you get. Especially when it comes to trying for leaderboard positions. Personally I don't really think that 0.7 hours is enough for a fair review of any game, when I doubt that 0.7 hours even got you through 1/3 of the levels, leaving out a lot of game mechanics and challenges.

  2. The problem I had with this game is that the premise was such a great one which I felt was let down by its execution. While it is true that I only got to roughly level 12 in the time I spent playing this game, it didn't give me any reason to want to continue further which is never a good sign.
