100 Word Review - #32 - Trials 2: Second Edition

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Genre - Sports, Racing, Indie

Metascore - 82%

Developer - RedLynx

Trials 2: Second Edition is a game whose series started as a flash game on Miniclip. It has come a long way since then. It does look a bit dated now, after just 4 years, but that shouldn’t be a major issue in what is still a very fun game. T2:SE starts off very easy but gets hard rather fast. And it’s this difficulty that will cause bouts of frustration and purposeful crashes (well, it did for me). There are 40 stages (excluding downloadable levels), but as you’ll be crashing quite often, these levels will last a rather long time.

‘AaAaAA!!!’ is the only game I’ve ever seen that features BASE jumping. You jump off buildings and cliffs, trying to stay as close to them as you can, whilst smashing through scoring plates and flicking off protesters before you deploy your parachute and land in a scoring zone. Simple, right? Wrong. The sheer speed at which you’re falling means you have to have lightning-fast reflexes to not smash into a building and break every bone in your body. It can get very addictive, as every time you fail, it spurs you on to try and complete it. Or rage quit.

100 Word Review - #11 - Poker Night at the Inventory

My friend Tom commented that the fact that this game costs actual money makes him want to throw up blood. This is quite a solid observation. ‘PNatI’ is, quite simply, poker - poker with characters from other (mostly ‘Telltale’) games that crack wise about your terrible poker skills. There is an option to turn the chatter down to a minimal amount. If there wasn’t, I would’ve gone insane. The poker is fine, as it’s poker - you can’t really go too far wrong there. I would feel a lot more comfortable if this was given free with any Telltale game.
